By placing an order with Champagne and Gumboots – Gluten Free Cake Maker and Bakery, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions. Please take a moment to read and fully understand them. Should you have any queries please feel free to contact me.
Quotes/
All quotes are valid for 7 days only. To secure a quote/date, a 50% deposit or the full amount will need to be paid.
Deposits and Retainers/
All cupcakes and slice orders must be paid in full upon quotation.
All large orders and custom cakes including wedding cakes require a minimum of 50% deposit (retainer) to be paid to secure your order and date. All deposits are non-refundable and the remaining balance is to be paid a minimum of 72 hrs prior to delivery. Failure to pay remaining balance will mean your order will not be baked/started upon, it is the customers obligation to ensure it is paid. Should Champagne and Gumboots or any of it’s employees not be able to reach the customer due to non-payment after two attempts the order will be cancelled.
In the event of a cake retainer being taken without a full order being placed (ie. to secure a date further in the future). All retainers are non-refundable as above, as the retainer is taken to lock your place on a date, this means no further orders are taken in your place. Should your situation change you must notify Champagne and Gumboots at the earliest time to arrange a different day/date (only if dates are available). Should the event be canceled and the cake no longer be needed retainers are non-refundable however Champagne and Gumboots, at their discretion, may arrange to credit it to another order at another time.
Cancellations & Changes to Order/
All cancellations and any changes to an order must be received a minimum of 7 days prior to the date booked. Please note that not all changes can be accommodated, if the changes require items/ingredients that cannot be accessed due to living regionally they cannot be done. I will always work within the best of my abilities to incorporate any changes. All changes and cancellations are to be received in writing (email) and confirmed by Champagne and Gumboots as being received.
In the event that an order is cancelled within the correct time frame and a credit is being issued for the retainer amount, it will be issued minus any/all items that have already been purchased to complete the order. This can include but is not limited to; cake boards, packaging, custom cake toppers, edible components, ingredients or any other decorative item that had to be sourced.
COVID Cancellations
Should your event be cancelled/postponed due to Covid your order (and all applicable charges) can be transferred to a new date, provided availability. It is at Champagne and Gumboot’s discretion should a refund be issued for any of the amount already paid. This amount will have any work/elements or products already purchased removed prior to refund.
Payment Methods/
We accept payment in the form of all major credit cards. Visa / Mastercard / American Express /. Cash can only be accepted in the instance of attending a market and purchasing product in person. Please refer to deposits above for more information.
Refunds/
Of course all circumstances are different, as are all cakes and people. As such, any refunds are to be discussed and resolved at the discretion of Champagne and Gumboots. Any disputes must be lodged within 24 hours of receiving the goods. Photographic evidence may be requested and any uneaten cake must be returned. Should the cake be eaten we will take that to mean it was edible and no refund will be offered.
In the event where the baker is unable to produce the order (due to unforeseen circumstances) every effort will be made to have the order produced by another gluten free cake maker in Perth. If this cannot be achieved a full refund will be given.
Designs/
Please note that due to monitor settings and other factors colours cannot be guaranteed to match 100%. This includes cakes shown in the gallery and colour matching where the customer provides a photo or other inspiration. Due to the nature of handmade there may be slight differences in products, this simply adds to the uniqueness of your special item. No two cakes will ever be the same.
Copyright Infringement/
As a rule we do not create character cakes or cakes/cupcakes with movie/television or other famous characters on them. This is in breach of intellectual copyright laws, copyright and trademark and personality rights. Some big name brands such as Disney actively chase and sue cake businesses in particular. So unfortunately we cannot create a Mickey Mouse, Paw Patrol or any other character themed cake. We can however create a cake inspired by your favourite or your children’s favourite characters. Please get in contact today to discuss your requirements and how we can help.
Allergens/
Our kitchen is a registered, insured and gluten free space. Trust that your baker, who is gluten intolerant herself is full bottle on hidden gluten in products and cross contamination. Other food allergies such as dairy and soy can certainly be accommodated, please just ask. Please note however, that most products produced in our kitchen do contain eggs and dairy and traces of such may be found. Nuts and nut products are also occasionally handled as well. Every effort is made to keep ingredients separate, however some traces may still be found.
Damages/
No responsibility for any damages that may occur to our cakes or cupcakes will be taken once items have left our care. This includes customers transporting the cake home or to a different location. We give you as much advice as possible when moving cakes to make your life easier, but also because we want to see your beautiful creation reach it’s destination.
When transporting cupcakes and cakes please remember:
- Never place a cake on a car seat. Always ensure it is on a flat surface such as the foot well of your car
- Always place a towel or similar underneath the cake box, this helps to stop it from moving around.
- Never leave a buttercream cake in direct sunlight, trust me it’s not pretty.
- Be wary of transporting cakes on hot days, ensure you have the air conditioning on and set to as cold as you can get it and never leave the cake sitting in the car.
Storage/
If specific storage is needed for your order you will be given the information with it. Otherwise all buttercream decorated cakes and cupcakes can be stored at room temperature in a cool, dark location. Basic buttercream cakes can be stored in the fridge however must be allowed to come back to room temperature before eating. Some cakes with fondant/gum paste details must not be stored in the fridge as they may sweat.
Publication/
We reserve the right to use any photos of products made by Champagne and Gumboots in any form of media.
