Well it’s excitement central today in our house! What was going to be a fairly uneventful Long Weekend has me now tingley all over and excited!
What happened to get me all worked up?
Well, today we signed the contract on the first stage of our new home!
It turned out to actually happen earlier than I had planned, as we were offered a discount to sign up now (so hello new lounge suite!!). Luckily I’ve been rather neurotic about nailing down the basic plans of this house so we were pretty much set with only one final change to the basic layout needed. So off we went this morning, my little family and I, to sign the piece of paper that is the beginning of our forever home! I honestly didn’t think I’d be this excited, but this home has been a long time coming and I’ve had far too many years to plan it….. just ask my husband!
So after all the ‘business’ was taken care of I went for a stroll around the display home, which is going to pretty much be our new home as is and I couldn’t help but get tingley all over. You know that butterflies in your stomach with a touch of adrenaline type feeling? I can’t explain it really. But it’s the feeling I’ve always gotten when I get excited and I know something fantastic is coming (or made budget at work! hehe). The great thing is I can really SEE our home sitting perched there overlooking our rolling hills…. well, ‘hills’ might be overkill but rolling they definitely are!
Next we decided to take a visit to Trevor’s Carpets to start looking at flooring options. Apparently we’re “allowed” to now. Pffffttt husbands! they really don’t get how much planning and work goes into do they?!! Anyway, we had a good look and we think we’ve narrowed down our choices, at least on the majority of the house. I’m still all over the place about the carpets for the bedrooms… but let’s not go there right now… It’s too late to start me on that topic!
So that’s it really. I’m buzzed with house planning yet again! Let’s just hope my munchkin of a child continues to sleep relatively well so I actually have some brain power left in the morning to make decisions!
