Hi there and Welcome! I’m Stacey, the crazy mama, behind Champagne and Gumboots. An exclusively Gluten Free Bakery located just outside of Perth, WA. I started this business of mine in a hope to solve all of your gluten free baking woes. As a gluten intolerant person myself I know all too well how hard it can be to constantly have to miss out on enjoying your favourite foods! None more so than cake.
That’s why I’m so passionate about the gluten free community
My goal in life has always been to feed people. I’ve loved baking since I was a child and fell in love with Nigella Lawson and her passion for chocolate *ahem, I mean food. But I have a hell of a sweet tooth and at the end of the day all I truly want is to bake a perfect chocolate chip cookie. Being diagnosed gluten free didn’t change that. It only made it, well, a tad more difficult.
Enter my gluten free baking journey. I won’t lie, there were a lot of failures to start with. Let’s not talk about my failed sponge cake for my Mum. Over the years though and lots (and lots) of experimenting I have realized that it’s entirely doable. Especially now with such an amazing selection of gluten free products and ingredients available on the market. It is entirely possible to make gluten free sweet treats that taste so good you’ll never know it’s gluten free!
A 100% Gluten Free Bakery was born
It’s took me years to perfect gluten free baking. But it was my love of wandering farmers markets with a coffee and sweet treat in hand that made me realize there was a gaping hole in the market. Folks like me just couldn’t do that! In 2018 I made the move and took my homemade gluten free sweet treats to a local market. It went bananas and I sold out in the first 30 minutes. I knew then that just like me you needed this. From there I expanded, my only goal was to bring as many gluten free cakes, cupcakes, cookies and treats to you in any way I could.

But that’s not all. I want to be able to help EVERYONE, (it’s not a small ask right?). Not just those of us that are lucky enough to live in Western Australia. So I started sharing my divine and easy gluten free recipes here on my blog and over on YouTube in an effort to show you just how easy it is to do!
What I truly hope you glean from me and my little kitchen in the country, is a little slice of joy. Whether it be in the peace and quiet of your own kitchen, whipping up something truly delectable for your family. (Just like you used to). Or simply relishing in each little bite of a delicious SAFE gluten free cake.
My hope, truly, is that I can help you find that divine gluten free moment.
A Little About Me
So what’s there to know about me? I’m a wife to a down and out country boy and a mum to a gorgeous little man who’s turning out to be just like his father. I also happen to be a textbook Leo. Anyone who knows me in the real world would know this fact all too well! 😉
I love swilling champagne, gin, wine, well pretty much anything and I love this Australian outback of mine. When I’m not in the kitchen baking, you’ll find me in my gumboots (obviously) either in my veggie garden or feeding my black sheep.
What do they say? Country girls do it better? Hell yeah we do!
I’m also an intensely crazy chocoholic. Like I mean… it’s BAD! I literally try to hide chocolate form myself in the pantry, which is hard when you buy your chocolate in bulk 10kg bags! Because if I see it… it’s doomed! And quite frankly, so is the size of my jeans.
Life is too short to eat bad cake.
